We read every message.
When something looks wrong with a number, it helps enormously if you tell us what you expected to see and what the app showed instead. Screenshots are welcome. Please never send passwords or bank login details — we will never ask for them.
Cash on Hand is what you actually have right now. You enter it at check-in, or, if you have Pro with a bank connected, it is pulled from your bank's real balance. Every transaction you log adjusts it immediately, so it stays current between check-ins.
Piggy Cash is the other number: where Cash on Hand is heading by the end of the month once upcoming bills, income and remaining budget are accounted for.
Once a day you confirm your balance. It takes about thirty seconds. That single number keeps your projections honest and earns XP, which builds your streak and unlocks cosmetics for your piggy.
Nothing, once. Missing a single day does not break your streak — it carries on when you check in next. The skipped day simply earns no credit. Two or more missed days in a row resets the streak to 1.
Because it has not been generated yet. Tap Auto-Generate Budget and Pocket Piggy reads up to six months of your spending and proposes categories from what you actually spend. It is available on the free tier. Pro adds a review step so you can adjust the proposal before anything is saved.
Bank connections run through Plaid, the same connection layer used by thousands of finance apps. You authenticate directly with your bank — your login never passes through us and we never see it. After that, transactions import automatically and refresh when you check in.
Bank sync is a Pro feature. The app is fully usable without it.
No. Your credentials are entered inside Plaid's own secure flow and are never sent to us or stored by us. We receive a token that permits read-only access to transactions and balances. We cannot move money, and there is no mechanism in the app to do so.
Banks describe merchants inconsistently, and some are simply unrecognisable. Open the transaction and change its category — Pocket Piggy remembers that choice on your device and applies it to that merchant from then on.
Settings → Bank Sync → Unlink. This revokes our access at Plaid as well as removing it from the app. Transactions already imported stay on your device, because they are yours.
On your device. Your transactions, budgets and balance are encrypted with AES-256 in local storage and are never written to our servers. What does sync is the non-financial side of your account — your profile, subscription status, and your streaks, XP and achievements — so your progress survives a new phone.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy and Security pages.
Account deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period, so an accidental deletion can be cancelled by signing back in. After that it is permanent and irreversible: your account, your cloud profile and your bank connection are all removed.
You can start deletion in the app under Settings → Account, or see Data Deletion.
If you turn it on, merchant names — and nothing else — are sent to be matched to a category when the app's built-in patterns do not recognise a merchant. Transaction amounts, dates, account numbers and bank details are never sent.
It is off by default and entirely optional. You control it in Settings → Bank Sync.
Yes. Enable biometric lock in Settings → Account to require Face ID or a fingerprint after the app has been in the background. There is also a privacy screen that blurs your balances in the app switcher.
Bank sync via Plaid and automatic transaction import, multi-month cash flow forecasting, spending analytics and vendor insights, custom categories, and PDF report export.
Everything else — check-ins, transactions, budgets, end-of-month projections and the full gamification system — is free forever.
Pro starts with a 14-day free trial, handled by the App Store or Google Play. Cancel any time before it ends and you are not charged. Billing is monthly.
Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us. On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; Pro stays active until the period you have paid for ends.
No. Your transactions, budgets and history stay exactly where they are — on your device. Pro-only features stop being available, but nothing is deleted, and resubscribing restores access immediately.
Tell us. Money bugs are the ones we care about most. Email support@PocketPiggyApp.com with what you expected, what the app showed, and roughly when it started. A screenshot of the screen in question is worth a great deal.
Check whether two days were missed rather than one — a single missed day is forgiven, two are not. If it still looks wrong, send us your rough check-in history and we will take a look.
The widget refreshes when you open the app or check in. If it is stale, open Pocket Piggy once. If it still will not update, removing and re-adding the widget forces a rebuild.
Confirm notifications are allowed for Pocket Piggy in your device settings, then check Settings → Notifications in the app. Reminders are scheduled to be battery-friendly, so they can arrive a few minutes either side of the time you set.
There is a fuller FAQ inside the app under Settings → Support, with more than thirty answers and a search box.
